My routine
I’m a bodybuilder in my fifties its not really harder building at my age. I started bodybuilding in my teens to my early 20s I competed then I got sick started back in my lare 20s, got married and quit til my 40s took a break for 2 years now I have started again. I have several degrees in fitness and nutrition. I still want to compete again and am making great progress towards that with my work out. The other thing about my work out is if you don’t want to be as intense as me it is great for toning and fat loss. I will start Monday my workout will be triceps, biceps and shoulders. The next day I work out my legs curls, extensions, press and calf. The next day chest and back, next day rest then I start back with legs abs can be done everyday. I do three to four sets 10 to 15 reps on each exercise with no rest in-between sets I do drop weight ten to twenty pounds between sets. This keeps fat from building up in my muscle. My exercise takes fifteen to twenty minutes a day. If I want cardio I will jog but I get cardio lifting weights with no rest in between sets or the next exercise I just keep moving from one to the other. If your not that intense you can do more rest in between work out days. But the no rest is crucial to your muscle health. I make great gains keep fit and don’t spend much time in the gym. I do want to compete this year. I believe in not wasting my life in the gym you can only stimulate muscle growth so much. Over working your muscle is a waste. I’ve been my own experient for the last year so trial and error but it’s worth it.
